Prepare a 4500 × 5400 transparent PNG
One repeatable workflow for checking dimensions, backgrounds, and file size before your next product upload.
Start with the product, not the number
A canvas of 4500 × 5400 pixels is the preset used by our Merch Resizer. It is not the right specification for every product or placement. First download your provider’s current template. Use Custom Resizer when that template calls for another size.
Choose the cleanest source
Use the highest-quality original you have. A transparent PNG is a good starting point when the garment should show around the design. A screenshot may include unwanted margins, interface elements, or a checkerboard baked into the pixels. Resizing does not remove those.
Use the one-upload workflow
Open Merch Resizer and choose a PNG, JPG, or WebP. The tool scales your artwork proportionally into a 4500 × 5400 canvas. Any remaining area becomes transparent padding; the tool does not stretch or crop the design. It then encodes a PNG and checks the file size against a strict 25,000,000-byte limit.
Look at the visible artwork size. A 4500 × 5400 canvas can contain a much smaller design surrounded by empty pixels. The transparency report includes the bounds of visible artwork. Large source margins stay part of the composition.
Review the actual output
The after preview is made from the encoded download, not from a separate mockup. Switch between checkerboard, dark, and white backgrounds. Look for rectangular backgrounds, soft edges, clipped details, and colors that changed during palette optimization.
Understand pixels and DPI
At an intended 300 pixels per inch, 4500 ÷ 300 is 15 inches and 5400 ÷ 300 is 18 inches. The generated PNGs include approximately 300-DPI resolution metadata where this tool re-encodes them. That metadata does not create more detail, and a marketplace may ignore it in favor of pixel dimensions.
Make the final checks in your marketplace
Upload the downloaded PNG, position it in the current product editor, and inspect the product preview. Follow the marketplace’s current rules on dimensions, file size, content, and intellectual property. This tool performs technical image preparation, not a guarantee of acceptance.
